Photo Frame

The search was frantic and efforts plenty,

Brimming with emotions but wallet

empty.

Ah! In the dusty drawer petty cash i found,

Perhaps some old savings I forgot

about.

Walked to the local market with footsteps indecisive,

May be a little glommy but

Senses passive.

To the shop I entered with a heavy

heart.

Buy a watch? Or some piece of

art?

The colossal anxiety, the tiny me.

Recounting coins with absent glee.

My choices irrelevant, price the

constraint.

Finally I found something affordable but plain.

The photo frame I chose was decent

enough,

Wrapped with shiny paper and some ribbon stuff.

I glanced at the shop clock and I had to hurry,

Bewildered still and full of worry.

Going to the party,

Keenly I pray.

Let not my gift be,

The worst of the day!
