Beyond the Noise

I didn't leave to find dreams, nor was I running from the past,
Just tired of days that never seemed to last.
Not running to find a distraction,
Just hoping to move in a softer direction.
I made fun of everything I desired so much,
And finally let go of the need to clutch.
I slept through mornings,
Without a schedule or the ringings.
I left the glass and concrete,
Beyond all those dreams I never did meet.
Escaping the noise and sound,
To a place where peace can be found.
So here I stand under the sky,
Nothing to rush, nothing to try.
Life moves on, but I walk slow,
Finally at peace with just letting go.
